Lexicon
Twenty short entries, one for each theme you can tick when you set up a story on DesireBorn or DesireBorn Bound. The point of tying the lexicon to the catalogue is that the words here are the words the product uses: if an entry says the engine treats negotiation as part of the scene, that is the theme called Negotiation and limits, and ticking it does what the entry says.
Each entry explains what the term means to the readers who use it, what the trope or practice is actually about on the page, and then, separately, how the engine handles it: what it carries in the story state, what it will and will not do with it, and where the one limit sits. The limit is the same in every entry and is not a matter of theme. Every character in a sexual context is an adult.
The first ten themes belong to the main site, the second ten to DesireBorn Bound. They are listed together here because the account is shared and the engine is the same; the site only decides which ten are offered in the setup.
Your stories are encrypted at rest. We can read them to write them. Nobody else can read them. The guide on privacy explains what that sentence covers and what it does not.
- BDSMWhat BDSM covers as a story theme, what separates it from a story that merely has rough sex in it, and how negotiation and aftercare get written.
- Degradation kink, consensualA degradation kink is arousal from words that would wound if they were not wanted. How it differs from humiliation and praise, and what is never said.
- DominanceWhat dominance means as a theme in adult fiction, why the dominant is the one paying attention, and how control gets written as attention.
- ExhibitionismAn exhibitionism kink is arousal from being seen. The difference between being seen and being caught, and how risk and audience get written.
- Forbidden affairWhat the forbidden affair theme covers, why secrecy drives the story, and how a long affair keeps track of who knows what.
- GroupWhat the group theme covers, from a third person to a full ensemble, and why cast size is the hardest test of an AI story engine.
- Negotiation and limitsWhat negotiation means in BDSM fiction, why the conversation before the scene belongs on the page, and how limits become story material.
- Power exchangePower exchange is control given rather than taken. The difference between a scene, a dynamic and total power exchange, and what is exchanged.
- RestraintWhat restraint means as a theme, what being held in place does to time on the page, and how the restrained body gets written with precision.
- RopeWhat rope bondage is as a theme, tying as craft and as intimacy, and the technical detail readers of this theme expect on the page.
- Sensation playWhat sensation play means, temperature, texture and blindfolds, and how the body gets written when one sense is taken away.
- Service and protocolWhat service and protocol mean in BDSM fiction, the pleasure of rituals done right, and how a protocol stays in force across a whole story.
- Slow burn romanceA slow burn is a romance where the delay is the pleasure. What it means in books rather than in dating, how slow is slow, and what makes it work.
- StrangersWhat the strangers theme means, why anonymity changes the writing, and how characters work when they begin without names or histories.
- SubmissionWhat submission means in romance and erotica, why it is the active half of the dynamic, and how a submissive gets written as a person with judgement.
- VoyeurismA voyeurism kink is arousal from watching. Why the watcher's interior is the scene, and how position and knowledge stay straight across a story.
- AftercareAftercare is the comedown handled on purpose. What it is, why it belongs in the scene rather than an epilogue, and what it looks like written.
- Denial and edgingEdging is stopping short on purpose; denial is being kept there. What both mean, and why they are stories about time rather than about acts.
- ImpactImpact play covers everything from a hand to an implement. Why rhythm and anticipation are the scene, and how the strike gets written.
- RoughWhat readers mean by rough sex as a theme, how it differs from BDSM, and how force between adults gets written without losing consent.
