Service and protocol
Service is doing things for someone because it has been arranged that you will; protocol is the set of rules that says how. Kneeling when the door closes, a form of address, the order things are done in, the small ritual that marks the start of a scene. The catalogue calls it rules, rituals and the pleasure of getting them right, and that pleasure is the theme's heart. It is the quietest theme on DesireBorn Bound and, for its readers, one of the most erotic.
Protocol fiction runs on consistency. A rule stated in the third section is a rule the reader expects in the tenth, and a rule broken has to be a story event. An engine that forgets the rules has not written protocol; it has written a costume.
How the engine handles it. With Service and protocol ticked, the plan treats the rules as the story's structure, and the story state carries them: what is permitted, what is owed, what has been earned and when it was taken away. A protocol established early is in force later, and a failure of protocol is registered and has consequences. The engine writes the interior of service, focus, effort, the pleasure of getting it right, and the interior of the person being served, and it does not moralise about either. The femdom landing page and the dominatrix page are two genres built almost entirely on this theme. Service in a session and service in a life are both on the table; both are between adults.
Your stories are encrypted at rest. We can read them to write them. Nobody else can read them.
